Principal's Message

Welcome Mountain Lion Families, 

It is with great enthusiasm that I greet you at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. We the staff at MMS look forward to a productive, fun and engaging academic year. We are excited to continue to increase student engagement in academics, extracurricular, and enrichment activities. I want to continue the positive culture that we are continuously working on. so hard to accomplish in the spring. There have been updates to the Student Handbook, Ski Programs etc. so please review them so that you are in the know. This year we are happy to have a new core ELA/History teacher. Our elective options are S.T.E.A.M., Life Skills, Study Skills/ College & Career, Yearbook, Science Club, MMS Band and Choir, English Language Development, and subject based
intervention for Math and English. We highly encourage our students and families to increase their involvement in all aspects of education for the betterment of our students' lives. We strive to live by our school mission and to help our students love the learning process. School is where our students will develop and build upon their strengths. It is
also a place where students will acknowledge their areas of growth and seek opportunities to develop into a well rounded person. We want our students to practice; Mt. Lion P.R.I.D.E. and “Choose Kindness” in their actions and words to make our school a welcoming place for everyone. We will continue this work with a relentless pursuit of achievement for all students and it is imperative that we strengthen our home to school connections to provide equitable support for all learners.

Please keep a lookout for our weekly Mt. Lion Message and review our website for additional information about the rest of the school year, bell schedules, and school events. We also encourage parents to be involved through various school committees such as School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), and our Mammoth Middle School Organization (MMSO).
