Introduction

This guide has been prepared to assist you in understanding and planning your academic program for middle school. Mammoth Middle School offers an instructional program that stresses academic achievement, increasing levels of academic challenge, and increasing expectations for student responsibility and accountability.

Curriculum and instruction are designed to develop and assess student-demonstrated growth in learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, applying math and science concepts and processes, using technology, understanding positive health habits, and effective use of language to communicate and access information.

The six-period curricular program includes required core classes as well as a variety of exploratory and elective options. We encourage students, as they select classes, to think ahead about the sequence of courses they might want to take in high school.
